Caffeine
Caffeine’s influence on AFib has sparked debate over the years. While there was once a blanket recommendation to avoid caffeine for individuals with AFib, recent clinical studies haven’t conclusively linked caffeine intake to AFib episodes.
Regular coffee consumption, up to 300 mg of caffeine (equivalent to 3 cups per day), might even reduce AFib risk. However, energy drinks laden with high caffeine concentrations and additional stimulants have been associated with adverse cardiovascular events, making them a potential concern for those with AFib.
